More About Us
One Equal Heart Foundation was established in 2006 to support the Jesuit Mission and the Center for Indigenous Rights (CEDIAC) in Chiapas, Mexico, in their work among the Tseltal Maya Peoples in the struggle for justice, dignity, harmony and hope.
100% of your donations support community-based programs that promote cultural survival, sustainable stewardship of native resources, educational opportunities for Tseltal Maya youth and their families, and non-violent resolution of conflict. One Equal Heart Foundation is a nonprofit organization under Washington State law and section 501(c)(3) of the US federal tax laws.
One Equal Heart Foundation takes its name from the Tseltal "jun pajal co'tanik," which literally means "one, equal heart of all." The name captures the spirit of the Tseltal Maya Peoples who say that when we live in harmony with each other, the Earth and our God, we walk together with "one, equal heart."
