The work of building healthy, sustainable families and communities in Chiapas is advanced through a comprehensive, holistic and multi-demensional approach that implements short- and long-term strategies.
Our Chiapas partners work with community leaders and volunteers to improve the quality of life and health of families and communities in ways that are sustainable and protect the health of the planet.
Ongoing training and professional-level education prepare Tseltal leaders to serve their communities more effectively. Our partners place special emphasis on leadership development for women and youth.
In addition, all training and education is conducted in the Tseltal language, focuses on the problems of the region through hands-on practice in the field, and is grounded in the Tseltal culture and social organization of the communities.
