“When I was a child, I loved to learn new things and participate in school and community events. But when I became a teenager, I suddenly was excluded from most community activities. I realized that women are not allowed to speak. What I had to say was considered worthless, simply because I am a woman." These are the words of Roselia Luna, a 16-year old Tseltal Indigenous girl from the community of San Sebastián in Chiapas, Mexico. Hers is the experience of so many Indigenous women.
