Delicia has one child and is a single mother. She lives in the Chabec Lumil community, where there are not many job opportunities or ways for women to earn incomes.

Delicia was encouraged to participate in the project " Women Deciding for the Equity and Well-being of their Families." She signed up as a last resort to improve her life situation. She never imagined how her life could change as a result.

After attending training workshops, Delicia started to produce edible mushrooms. After 20 days, she began harvesting mushrooms. She not only had enough for her family but also extra to sell to neighbors in her community.  Now she is earning money to buy other food and household necessities. . She discovered that growing mushrooms is an easy job with quick profits.

Besides her mushroom cottage business, Delicia has also joined a group of women to grow vegetables and bake bread for sale in their community. Delicia says that she is very excited and optimistic. And her success has given her more confidence: because of what she’s learned as part of this Project, she wants to try out other business ideas to support her family.
